The Design Process (Page 1)
Listening
Here at Dynamic Data Design we believe in providing software that
really works for you. We provide numerous
technical services to do this, but the first service we always provide
is a simple one; we listen. Each of our customers has a different set of
requirements. They wish to improve their current systems and processes
in different ways. So before we do anything else we must enter a structured
discussion period.
Planning
Once we have a gained an insight into the requirements we are then ready
to propose a plan of action and a price. Depending on the scale of
the project these plans may be very simple and only cover a period
of a couple of weeks or they may last a number of months. In all
but the simplest cases these plans include some or all of the
following elements: Specification, Prototype, Design & Development,
User Testing, Review, Installation and Maintenance.
Specification
The specification stage of a project is very important and during
this stage Dynamic Data Design dedicate themselves to understanding
their customer's requirements in order to produce effective and
appropriate systems.
Prototypes
Often the customer may be unsure about how the user interface should
look and feel. Just as a picture can be worth a thousand words a
prototype can be worth any number of meetings and discussions.
Design & Development
This is the really technical bit where our developers get down to
the task of converting ideas into reality. The languages and
databases used by Dynamic Data Design are listed in the
skills
section. The list is quite long because we believe in using the
right tools for the right job.
